If every American home replaced just 1 light bulb with an ENERGY STAR qualified bulb, we would save 

enough energy to light more than 3 million homes for a year, save more than $600 million in annual energy 

costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars. So why don't we?

#8 I am not saying that you should replace all of your lights this second but, the next time that one blows out go 

to Home Depot and get something like

EcoSmart 9-Watt (40W) T3 Soft White CFL Light Bulbs (4-Pack) (E)*

for $5.85. I am not saying that you need to get this exact brand (it is just an example) but, look for energy efficient light bulbs. They last longer and they help the environment.
